The Pit and the Peak of a Tuesday.

{the pit}
This is how one of my students fell asleep today...

Lately I've been feeling the exact same way.
Tired and worn out.
Even though I just had a vacation.
I blame this on my job.
And I've been pretty much falling asleep anywhere.
I even fell asleep yesterday while I was supposed to be watching my class play outside.
My bad.
Shh don't tell anyone.

{the peak}
Labor Day is on Monday... Do you know what that means? THREE day weekend. Man do I live for three day weekends. They're the best.

Birthday Weekend.

This weekend could not have been any better.

It was filled with...

A day at Disneyland

Funny faces

Fantastic rides

These guys watching me sleep

Pancakes bigger than our faces

The best firework show EVER

A day at the beach

Birthday messages in the sand

Hanging out with these guys

And these guys

Good food

An Arabian friend

Birthday dinner at The Cheesecake Factory

A Seaweed model

And birthday pins

Course I can't leave out the millions of car problems we had, driving down the wrong side of the rode in Beverly Hills, breaking down in the middle of Hollywood, almost dying ten times and the maids stealing from us.

Fantastic weekend? I think yes!

Boob Talk.

Conversation between two of my four year olds while watching Shrek at work on Friday:

Navi: Eeeeew Shrek has boobs. All boys and girls have boobs ya know. Everyone just has boobs.
Jayde: Yeah I have boobs, see. (Jayde flashes Navi)
Miss: McCall: Jayde, please pull up your shirt and don't do that again okay?
Navi: Those are just not real. One day you'll have real boobs like mine.

Funniest. Thing. Ever.
Man these kids kill me.

All My Single Ladies.

Me: Nina what kind of pose is that?
Nina: It's my all my singles ladies pose. Ya know, if you liked it you shoulda put a ring on it.

I live for what this girl is about to say next.
She's freakin hilarious.

College Bound.

My little brother left me last night.
He's going down to Dixie for school.
I couldn't be more excited for him though.
I can't wait for him to grow and experience new things.
Next time I see him is Thanksgiving.
I hate to admit it but I'm gonna miss him teasing me.
I'm gonna miss the wet willies he gives me.
I'm gonna miss our fights that we have that last for five minutes then we're talking again.
I'm gonna miss our late night chats. and Mario Kart marathons.
I'm gonna miss the random hugs he'll give me.
Oh man. I think Thanksgiving break is too far away.

Best of luck to ya bud.
You'll do awesome.
Go to church.
Remember who your true friends are.
Be a gent to the ladies.
Don't you dare touch drugs or alcohol cause I will find out about it...and I will beat you.
Kidding.
But really though.
And don't forget about your favorite sister at home.

The Pit and the Peak of a Thursday.

{the pit} My math final is tonight. I'm so bum nervous. I pray to the heavens and back I pass. Wish me luck.

{the peak} I turned around at work today to find Nina looking down her shirt saying, "Let's see what I got going on down here." It was hilarious. I'm still laughing about it. She kills me.

Gramma Williams.

My fam and I went to my Gramma William's on Sunday.
Course we had French dip sandwiches.
We seriously have those things every single time she invites us over to eat.
I don't think she realizes it either.
I love this little old lady though.
She's blunt-passed that down to me.
Saves everything.
And I mean everything.
Once she gave us six year old Triscuts in a baggie.
They weren't even in the original box.
And they were hard as a rock.
Promise I chipped my tooth on one of them.
I love that she calls Hobby Lobby, Holly Lobby and has no idea she's saying it wrong.
She has been through so so much.
But I admire her so so much for going through these trials and being strong while she does so.
I'm blessed that I get to call her my grandma.

Look at her fridge. Full of quotes. I bet this is where I get my love for quotes from.

Bottle of Mountain Dew I found by her sink more than halfway gone.
What a champ.

Don't tell me these aren't the creepiest things you've ever seen.
She has a whole shelf full of them and it freaks me out.
Apparently my great grandma made them.
Who the heck decides to make naked posing babies?
My great grandma, I guess.

Nina Bo Beana.

I have a new Ken in my class.
This girl cracks me up.
She's not nearly as innpropriate as Ken, but still so so funny.
I turned off the lights for naptime the other day and she told me that I looked better with the lights off.
Thanks Nina?
She also informed me today what the word acceleration meant...
"Acceleration is when kids do or just don't want to go to school."
Something like that right?

Quote of the Week.

God made the world round so we would never be able to see too far down the road.

The Happiest Place on Earth.

Guess who's spending their 21st birthday at the happiest place on earth?
Me, me, ME!
I seriously am SO bum giddy.
This just might top Christmas.
And seeing the last Harry Potter movie.
My friend Mike put it perfectly....

Disneyland is the only happy place on earth. Your heart will skip beats on all of the enchanted attractions- That day we'll escape pirates while navigating the dangerous seas of the caribbean, soar through the skies of California, plummet to our near deaths on a haunted elevator, fly through mountains in outer space, save buzz light year from the evil emperor Zerg, flow gently through the rivers of splash mountain, embark on a daring submarine ride with Nemo and friends, waltz through Cinderella's enchanted castle, flee from a vicious snow monster atop Matterhorn mountain on a speeding bobsled and so much more.

Well put yeah?
I can't wait.
Only 19 more days till Disneyland!

True Love.

Do you ever wonder where true long lasting love has gone?
Ya know, the kind of love that you would do anything and everything for each other.
The kind of love that after five years of being with each other you still get giddy seeing each other.
The kind of love where you grow old and wrinkly together.
I can easily name ten different people off the top of my head that I know personally who have cheated on their spouse or have gotten a divorce. One, even in my own extended family.
And this scares me.
Tremendously.
It's sad that eternal marriage is now taken lightly and brushed to the side.

I however have incredible examples in my life to diminish my fears.
One being my parents.
I love that when my mom was in the hospital my dad was there at her bedside by seven in the morning and didn't leave till midnight.
I love that he will randomly bring her flowers home.
I love that he surprises her with random little trips to St. George to see a play.

Another amazing example that I have in my life is Melissa and Brad Elder.
I actually kinda feel sheepish talking about them cause they have no idea I secretly admire their relationship.
There is just something about this couple that makes them so darn cute.
You can tell they mean the world to each other.
By how they talk to one another.
By how they act towards one another.
And I am truly grateful for this example.

To all the family and friends that are truly in love...
Thank you!
You give me something to look forward to.

You know you're in love when you can't fall asleep because reality is finally better than your dreams

Bum Excited.

Thanksgiving in August??
And I'm not even mad about it.
Usually seeing decorations out early makes me grumpy.
But for some reason I am so bum excited for Fall and Christmas time.
I blame watching The Real Housewives of New Jersey.
They're celebrating Christmas time in their episodes and I can't help but be excited.
Can't wait for lotsa layers, homemade pumpkin bread, hot chocolate and the usual traditions.

Yes, they even have Christmas decorations set up....

Look at these trees...
Aren't they cool?
They look like they came straight out of Whoville.
And I want them.
